Silver and enamel perfume bottle 1935. Sold by Mappin and Webb.
This charming silver perfume bottle was imported through London to be sold by Mappin and Webb in 1935. It is of a fine Art Deco design with two lines of black enamel emphasising the form of the bottle. It bears full hallmarks to the base, the screw top lid retains it’s dipper for the perfume. This rare bottle retains it’s original case, the Mappin and Webb logo applied to the inner lid.
This delightful bottle stands 3.9cm high including the lid, is 2.7cm wide and 0.7cm deep. It is in excellent condition, bearing only light wear appropriate to its age and substance. It’s original fitted case is in good order and closes tightly. Traces of perfume may still be smelt from the bottle. This is a rare survivor in such fine condition.
